Rack Decking
Rack Decking can be used to keep inventory that falls off a pallet from falling to the floor and for non-palletized bulk storage. Several are several options in choosing a rack decking.
Plywood or particle board with wood or metal cross supports offer a smooth and solid surface and are most often used in bulk storage applications.
Wire mesh decking has a “drop-in” design and no tools are needed to install. The most popular style is the outside waterfall where the front and rear of the decking fit over the front and rear beams. This feature along with the front to rear channel supports offer a secure and strong deck support. Wire mesh rack decking:
- Is available in sizes to fit almost all rack sizes
- Is available in capacities that correspond to the capacities of the beams being used
- Meets fire and safety requirements and is ideal for warehouses with sprinkler systems
- Does not collect dust and dirt like wood decking
- Can be used with dividers to keep products separated
Punched corrugated decking can also be used for bulk storage applications. The decking fits into the step of the front and rear beams and is fastened with tek screws.Punched decking:
- Is 50% open so that sprinkler water can flow through to lower levels
- Is ergonomically designed so that boxes slide smoothly on and off without catching
- Does not waterfall edge so the full height of the beam is available for labeling
- Offers freight savings because 3 times more square footage of Punch Deck can be shipped on a single truck than most other decking products
- Can be produced to fit most rack sizes
